3.8.25 - Becoming Your Own Boss
Share
What a pickle. Relying on someone elses business to provide for my family does not bode well for our future. The constant fear of losing our lively hood and being fired is a daunting amount of weight and pressure.
Yet the alternative of becoming my own boss and starting a business does not remove that sensation. Some would even say that it heightens it.
I have done countless hours of research on what business to start, how to start it, how to scale and all these other things...yet I have never done it.
I complain and feel the compounding feeling of relying on a job but then I am paralyzed with fear on what it's like to be on my own. To become my own boss, do I have enough fortitude and grit to rely on myself?
To not have a company behind me to complain about or to throw my problems at? Do I have what it takes to put all the pressure on myself and my vision?
I can't answer that. At least not yet.
What I can state is my choice. Instead of going all in like all these gurus and self assured individuals state, I am going to go slow.
We are going to start with this blog, start with YouTube, start with stickers, and whatever else we can think of. Do what every project manager or director knows when fielding a new product.
Were going to perform a proof of concept on starting businesses. I don't believe people need to go all in. The world right now is on go at all times. Instant gratification is everywhere, all you see on the web is young millionaires but they're 1 in a million.
You know what has better odds? What's 1 in a thousand?
Old millionaires, whether it's stocks or starting a business, if you go slow and steady. Make the mistakes and pivot accordingly, you can succeed. You just need to live and make it there, you need to be active and not passive with your life.
Stop worrying about others and what they think. Stop worrying about failing. Go ahead and fail. Just try and understand what you need to work on next. But you can only have a next if you live and survive. See the future, It looks brighter with you in it.
Love, FRZ.
